Human Rights First is an independent advocacy and action organization that challenges America to live up to its ideals. We believe American leadership is essential in the global struggle for human rights, so we press the U.S. government and private companies to respect human rights and the rule of law. When they fail, we step in to demand reform, accountability and justice.
Human Rights First’s Refugee Representation team promotes human rights by assisting refugees fleeing persecution. We achieve this goal by providing direct representation and partnering with pro bono lawyers to help our clients access social services and legal protections in the United States consistent with international law. We then use that experience to advocate for laws and policies that protect refugees.
