Legal Assistance for Seniors
Legal Assistance for Seniors (LAS) provides free legal services and community education to seniors in Alameda County. LAS attorneys and advocates assist seniors with issues related to citizenship and disability waivers, public benefits, elder abuse, guardianship of minor children, housing and health law. LAS is the parent agency for Alameda County's Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP). HICAP helps Medicare beneficiaries of any age make informed choices and provides advocacy when their health care benefits and rights are threatened or denied.
